I had to do it. Since I launched the Home For Infinite Losers series of articles, I did it to air out my frustrations with several media outlets. Admittedly, there was a bit of a bias in my opinions since I did run a Cartoon Network-oriented website when I began the articles.
That was a mistake I hope I rectified when I wrote Checkerboard Confusion, my in-depth look at the current state of Cartoon Network, which pointed out a whole lot of things that I felt was (and still is) ruining the channel. That article was not only cathartic, but it was also needed to spark the fire to completely raze the Home For Infinite Losers for good.
It's been over a year since I last looked at the initial losers. Many of them continued on their loserly ways while others either faded in the background or began to escape from our stream of consciousness. Since I last updated these losers in August 2002, Studio USA, DiC, Disney, Saban, Nickelodeon, and Jamie Kellner all went through changes that changed them for the better and for the worse. Heck, some of them are gone completely. This is the last time I'm looking at these individuals in the HFIL. I'm somewhat positive about most of them, weary of others.
It's time to light this house on fire!
Up first . . . Studios USA.
