Here are the elements of Giant Robot Week, as we have seen on Toonami this week:
Unique opening and intro elements.
One-time-only rights to popular ADV Films titles like Dai-Guard, Nadesico, and Evangelion.
One-time-only rights to Harmony Gold's popular series Robotech.
One-time-only rights to show Gigantor in serialized form.
The Toonami premiere of the popular Cartoon Cartoon short Low Brow.
Here's what I would change about those elements:
No squashed end credits.
Limited editing, to at least have a TV-PG (Parental Guidance) rating on some of the shows.
Airing spoiler-free episodes (i.e. episodes that wouldn't contain anything that would spoil the series).
Here's what I would have added:
The entire lineup would be dedicated to Giant Robot Week, not just one hour. Dragonball and DBZ would take a week-long vacation.
One-time-only rights to Universal Animation Studio's Exo-Squad and Sony Pictures Television's Roughnecks and Heavy Gear.
Toonami mecha franchises like Gundam and The Big O would be prominent in the special week.
One-time-only rights to Transformers: Generation One.
