Seventy-five percent of the new Cartoon Network's programming comes from Warner Cartoon Group. That's right, the majority of the cartoons are owned by units of Warner Cartoon Group. After all, this is their network as well as their marquee property.
The original Cartoon Network has aired outside programming in the past, and that's not going to change for the new Cartoon Network. About 15% of all titles on Cartoon Network will come from third-party companies. It could be Japanese animation, Canadian titles, British cartoons, even shows from other studios like Sony, DiC, Classic Media/Entertainment Rights, Fox, or even CBS Paramount or Disney.
Yes, Disney. There are many animated titles from Disney not on the air but could easily be back on the air if they syndicated them. Just like Warner Cartoon Group syndicates their programming, Disney could do likewise at a comparable or equal price.
Personally speaking, I'd love to see Codename: Kids Next Door air back to back with Pepper Ann. Teen Titans airing right after Class of the Titans. And The Simpsons would be a welcome addition to any network's cable lineup, especially back to back with The Flintstones on Cartoon Network.
Outside programming wouldn't be just anime, as is the case with the bulk of the original Cartoon Network shows.
In fact, that's just a small part of how the new Cartoon Network would be remotely different than the original Cartoon Network. Here's the final page on the subject.
