1: Up In The Sky

Parasite, a power-absorbing mutate, drains the power of Metropolis, and Superman takes on the creature. But how can he fend off a being that can take away all his powers with a touch?

The episode sets up the general dynamics of what the show is all about. Superman taking on powerful beings and criminals while living a double life as a newspaper reporter.

2: Heart of Danger

An old friend of Lois Lane returns to Metropolis, but the true reason for his arrival has Superman and the SCU concerned, and Lex Luthor has all the answers.

This episode introduces Metallo, Leslie Willis, and Jade.

3: Guardian of the Night

A shield-wielding vigilante has been spotted on the streets of Metropolis. When Superman investigates the rumors, he learns there's a lot more to this newcomer than he and the rest of Metropolis realizes.

This episode introduces The Guardian, Project Cadmus, and its strange regional head, Dr. Theodore Thirteen. This episode also introduces "the Doomsday Motif" that will be around for the first season. It will be seen four times this season. A hand punching a metal wall. Hollow clang his heard. His jagged claw poking out in every punch. The first look at the punch will cause minimal damage. Glove intact.

4: The Games We Play

A football game is interrupted by giant teddy bears tackling the players. Traffic is snared by RC cars. Dolls are robbing banks. And a strange man dressed like a jester his kidnapping the children of the Metropolis elite.

This episode introduces Toyman, Skyman (under his civilian identity as a football player), and the duo of Fury and the Silver Scarab.

5: The Shock of Your Life

Leslie Willis is mutated into an energy being after getting shocked by a blue lightning bolt that came from a LexCorp satellite. Now calling herself Livewire, she threatens to take down LexCorp and her favorite target on the radio, Superman.

6: The Simp and the Imp

The host of a kids' show takes revenge on Superman with the aid of an otherworldly creature with a strange name. Lois finally confronts Clark about her feelings about him.

Doomsday Motif #2: First look at the clawed fist of the villain. Small claw marks make a visible dent on the outside of the metallic surface. Clangs getting deeper in tone.

7: The Gang's All Here

Ugly Mannheim has assembled some of the most powerful beings on the planet as part of his Intergang project, whose core mission is to get rid of Superman.

8: Infinity

Lex Luthor reveals a team of young, yet inexperienced superheroes under his management, but what are his true intentions with the group? And why is one young sorceress unimpressed with them?

9: Conduit

Clark returns to Smallville for his high school reunion where he reconnects with old friends, his first girlfriend Lana Lang, and Kenny Braverman, a classmate who has held a grudge against Clark for years and a plan to get rid of him once and for all.

Doomsday Motif #3: More of the humanoid fist and more detail of the clawed fist is shown. The fist pierces the outside of the metallic surface.

10: Adventures of the Metropolis Kids

While looking at a Superman exhibition at the Art and Science Museum, three kids recall stories about Superman from their perspectives. One tells the story of a time he saw Superman face giant robots. Another recalls a story his brother told him about Superman fighting an armored mad scientist. Another tells the story about his aunt, who was on a falling spacecraft Superman saved.

From a story point of view, this is an homage to the "Legends of the Dark Knight" episode of Batman and the "Have I Got A Story To Tell You" segment from Batman: Gotham Knight. Superman has been around Metropolis for over five years and had many adventures before the series began. Historically, this is an homage to three eras of the Man of Steel, the Golden Age (the Fleischeresque robot story), the Silver Age (the armored mad scientist is very similar to Lex Luthor's Silver Age persona [and voiced by Lex's voice artist]), and the pre-New Earth era (the John Byrne-inspired spacecraft story). It's a light-hearted, fun look at how kids see Superman.

11: Whisper In The Wind

Whisper A'Daire and her companion Abbot break into the Metropolis Museum of Art and Science in search of a mysterious ring. Jade, a member of Team Infinity, joins Superman in figuring out why they need to steal the ring.

12: The Man of Steel

John Irons sees Intergang using one of his blueprinted prototypes, a weapon he designed at LexCorp but never built. Creating a disguise out of the polymer metal alloy he created, he becomes a hammer-wielding hero and determined to get answers from Lex Luthor himself. When Team Infinity interferes, they learn a lot about their employer.

13: Truth

The Key kidnaps Traci Thirteen, the estranged daughter of Cadmus' Doctor Thirteen, hoping to unlock her abilities. Big mistake. The doctor asks Superman to assist him while they both search for his daughter while going through Parasite, Livewire, and Metallo to get to her. Clark reveals the truth about his dual identity to Lois. And the mysterious backer of Intergang makes a rare trip to Metropolis.

Doomsday Motif #4: The fist continues to punch. The creature's entire fist is shown as its glove has completely torn apart. The wall is pierced and his hand has finally went through the wall he had been punching.
