Warning: Incoming Game

When the citizens of Mainframe heard that klaxion, they knew that trouble was near. Fortunately, they had a Guardian named Bob, who, along with Dot, Enzo (who would grow into Matrix), Frisket, Phong, and AndrAIa, protects them from the threats of the games as well as the ruthless viruses Megabyte and Hexidecimal.

ReBoot was a pioneering endeavor that helped build the computer-animation industry when it premiered on Toonami in March 1999. It's history in the United States, however, has been mired in controversy and chaos. A victim of network politics in its original broadcast run, ReBoot was given a second chance thanks to the block.

Not only did we get the first two seasons in its original unblemished forms, but we also got the third season, previously exclusive to Canada, mostly uncut. The show had become one of the biggest draws for the block, not just because of the innovative computer animation and great storylines. but because it was a popular series that didn't originate from Japan, a rarity for the Toonami lineup. Because of its newfound popularity, both YTV (the series' Canadian broadcaster) and Cartoon Network funded a fourth season, which dealt with the Daemon storyline introduced in the latter half of the third season, but never fully explored. With its eight episodes airing in October 2001, ReBoot was the first North American-made show to have a cycle of new episodes. However, fans are dying to find out if Cartoon Network will ever run the series in its entirety again, or, if the fates allow, conclude the storyline left by the cliffhanger of the last episode. It kind of makes you wish Mainframe and Cartoon Network would learn to play nice together.

We're at the halfway point. Go to the next show.
