Some of us live like it's our last days while others have grown a bit on edge. We have seen leaders galvanize our country to look ahead to the future while we have also seen leader manipulate our fears to better their causes. I don't want to politicize this day, so I'm going to cut it short. I'm going to reprint an older article I posted days after the attacks. I'll be back on tap tomorrow. If you don't want to read what I had to say today, you're free to scroll down to yesterday's update.
In the meantime, take a moment and remember those lost and those that continue to live on.
Hope, like the gleaming taper's light, adorns and cheers our way; and still, as darker grows the night, emits a brighter ray. - - Oliver Goldsmith.

Morning.
I thought it was going to be a regular morning. It wasn't. In my nearly 24 years of existance, I have never seen such a cowardly, disgusting, and tragic event. I never even imagined awakening to something like this. First, I saw the top of one of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City in smoke. Groggy, I looked at it and thought to myself, "Not again." I collapsed to my bed when I later heard that the Pentagon was bombed. I grew worried, probably because I live not far from a major naval shipyard (just minutes from my house) and the largest naval base in the world just feet away from my school, Old Dominion University. Then, minutes later, I saw it. The most horrendous thing my eyes have ever seen, all in front of a live, television audience. A plane just plowed through the other WTC tower. They both collapsed as the day progressed. I was numb, tears going down my face.
All that smoke. All the hysteria. All the lives lost.
I began to worry about my friends in the area. As the days progressed, I tried to call or e-mail them. Some I heard from. Others I'm still waiting for. I cry. I pray. I just wish I could do more. One thing's for certain.
Toonami, this site, and basically my regular life are all afterthoughts. Heroes like Goku, Batman, Amaro, Tenchi, Bob and others aren't necessary, especially when real heroes are in NYC, Shanksville, and DC, risking their lives to save others. For this moment, the lights are dimmed at CNX Toonami Revolution out of the memories of the thousands who lives were lost on that terrible day. This act of terror, this act of war, will still be deep in my my mind for days, weeks, even months from now. But I won't let it consume me. That's just what the bastards that did this want the events of Tuesday to do to us. This is the United States of America, and today, we as a country are even more united. We speak with one voice. We mourn with many tears.
Help if you can. If you're religious, say a prayer for the nation, the living and the deceased. Talk to your loved ones and tell them how much you care. I send my prayers and sympathies to our friends and families in New York, Pennsylvania, and D.C. In this time of tragedy, we must all stand together was one, united for the common cause.
