[nc]
Pronounced "in-SEE," [nc] doesn't stand for Network Cartoon. It doesn't stand for No Cartoons, Nice Cartoons, Naughty Cartoons nor North Carolina.
[nc] stands for a spirit that founded the original Cartoon Network that remains prevelent to this day. Everybody Loves Cartoons. This network is for the older crowd that still loves cartoons. It's also is created with the spirit that launched [adult swim], a bit of reverence towards animation but with an edgy, older, more mature paradigm and mentality that allows it to be for grown folks.
Before I continue, a bit of a sidebar: [nc] is not the new [adult swim]. It's not replacing [adult swim] on Cartoon Network. As I mentioned earlier, that block will continue to be a major part of Cartoon Network's programming. However, it will be part of the more all-reaching audience of the network as opposed to being a separate channel for ratings purposes. That's [nc]'s job now.
That said, the lineup won't be a 24-hour all-cartoon channel (that honor goes to C2), and will reflect more on the target audience of 18-34 in prime-time. Like [adult swim[, [nc]'s backbone starts with a lineup built up from the libraries of Turner and Warner Bros. Animation. Action titles like Jonny Quest, ThunderCats, and Batman share space with comedies like Pinky and the Brain, Beetlejuice, and Ace Ventura as well as shows that combine humor with action like Freakazoid, Megas XLR, and The Venture Brothers. Shows that made their mark on [adult swim] over the years and continues to air on the block will be a part of [nc]'s lineup. [nc] would be the only place to find shows like Venture Bros., Bleach, Brak Show, and Harvey Birdman in prime-time.
[nc] would be the exclusive cable home of a pair of Emmy-winning series, Pinky and the Brain and Beetlejuice, the Toonami original series IGPX, fan-favorite sci-fi classic Babylon 5, the legendary spy-fi series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and the iconic martial arts series Kung Fu, and will serve as a secondary cable home for Supernatural, Supernatural: The Animation, Animaniacs, and other series. It's kind of like the Checkerboard model, just with more action and more mature programming.
In the first year, the lone original [nc] Breakdown will debut. Like A weekly, hour-long look at music, games, movies and TV shows for the targeted audience. Music videos from the hottest electronica artists. Probably one of the most ambitious shows ever to come from Cartoon Network, the Breakdown shows its audience what's new and what's up.

The launch of [nc] would be a year away from Checkerboard's initial launch. The [adult swim] block on Cartoon Network as well as Turner's TBS and TNT channels will play a major role in promoting the channel as well as teasing what's on the horizon there. A day before the launch, Cartoon Network, TNT, and TBS would air special marathons in coordinace with their mission: Cartoon Network would air a Samurai Jack marathon. TNT would air a Supernatural marathon, and TBS would air The Venture Bros marathon. [adult swim] would air some of the exclusives on [nc]for one night only like Pinky and the Brain, Beetlejuice, IGPX, and Kung Fu as well as the [adult swim] shows airing there as well. Give viewers a little taste of what [nc] is all about and get them hooked.
Now, here's breakdown of what the networks of Cartoon Network Entertainment.
